I've got a diagnosis of incomplete abortion and cpt of D&C.

I coded 637.91 diagnosis and 59812 cpt with 01965 ASA.

My supervisor questioned what is the difference in 634.91 and the 637.91?

I picked the unspecified because of the information we had. Is this correct? Thank you for all of your comments, Alisha Lemmons
 
I would think that if you know it was not an elective abortion 634.91 would be most appropriate. I would use 637.91 if it was not clear if the abortion was induced or not. Just my two cents...
