Hello,

Have a scenario where the patient requires a diagnostic study w/ contrast. Can we (Infusion center )bill for accessing the subclavian port? The nurse is accessing the port and giving a hepblock injection to keep the line open. The radiology facility will inject the dye into the port but will not access it.

Debate over billing 96374 for the access and hepblock injection. Cpt book states that 96365-96379 are not reported for which an IV push is an inherent part of a procedure (ie; admin of contrast material for diagnostic study).
