My surgeon performed a right axillary mass excision which is an accessory mammary. The mass was 10.0 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm and a drain was placed. The pathology showed breast tissue and fibrocystic changes. Since it is an accessory mass I didn't know if I could code it 19301 or 19120? Any ideas??
 
I could use the 19120 code, but the 19301 code needs records indicating malignant tissue & margins of healthy tissue. Code 19020 may also apply depending on the OP note.
