Does anyone have any experience with acupuncture in a PCP office setting? Specifically - billing for it? We have a physician that would like to start offering this service in our office & wonder if any insurance companies reimburse for it.
Thanks!

What kind of specialty is your office? I work for several chiropractic offices, some of whom offer acupuncture. Most commercial insurance companies do reimburse for it; you just need to verify with them in addition to the medical benefits that you usually obtain. Medicare definitely does not cover it; VA does as long as the visits are authorized. And of course, it doesn't hurt if your physician demonstrates medical necessity for performing acupuncture.
