We are having issues with ADHD visits going to the patient's deductible because of the plan not covering Mental Health visits....so
if our pediatric doctor uses V58.83, V58.69, 314.xx codes for ADHD medication management along with CPT codes 99213-99215 ... will this count towards the patient's annual Well Benefits?

Preventive codes

"Well benefits" would be paid on preventive visit codes.

The only correct way to code these visits is to code what is documented. If the reason for visit is ADHD then that is your dx code.

If the patient's insurance does not cover "mental health" that is a benefit issue, not a coding issue.

I know you want to help the patients out, but do not change codes just to get paid. That has fraud written all over it.

Hope that helps.
