Wiki Admission/Discharge Same DOS?

Hello there,

I have a patient who was admitted and discharged on the same DOS, documentation for the initial only supports EPF History, EPF Exam, and Moderate Level MDM.

Upon presentation to the hospital, was decided to also perform emergency surgery for an Ectopic Pregnancy (90 day global).

Documentation does not meet the 99234 level code.

So do I bill a subsequent code? If so the surgery was done on the same DOS, and per CMS guidelines subsequent codes are included in Global surgery payment, can I still add the 57 modifier to the sub code?

Any help on this situation would be great. Thanks :confused:
