Hi -

If a patient sees one of the PAs in my group and is sent to the hospital and gets seen by one of the physicians on that same day, it's two separate visits, yes? Even if the physician is the co-signing (supervising) on the PA's visit?

Thank you!

Hi Jessim929

Unfortunately, no it wouldn't be 2 separate visits. The hospital visit would supersede the office visit and the attending would have to do a H & P. The physician is allowed to include elements of the PA's documentation in the H & P from the office visit.

Hope this helps
