Patient comes into ED on 5/19 @ 23:00 and orders are placed to admit to inpatient at 23:42 to admit the patient but patient only gets placed into room at 01:30am on 5/20. Should we bill an inpatient code for the 5/19?
 
If the place of service is ER until time of admit, then I don't see how you could bill an admit for dos 05/19, you need to check the time of admit on the hospital record. You can't go by the time the patient gets into the room unless that is the time the record shows as the admit time.
