Hello! I work in a pediatric setting, however, we do see patients through age 21. One of our physicians administered the NICHQ Vanderbilt Assessment form to a 21-year old, not realizing that we should have looked for another test that was more age-appropriate. What test(s) do you all use for adults in this situation and do you use CPT code 96127 to bill for it? Thanks in advance for your help!

I know our Adult Psychiatry Clinic almost always uses the ADHD-ASRS v1.1. There's a 6-question and an 18-question version; we always use the 18-question.

As far as the billing goes, right now we're stuck in a debate about how to bill if it's completed on paper (and manually scored) versus computer (and electronically scored), so I can't help you on that one. But I do see 96127 as a good match to this screening tool.
