Hello,

Does anyone know if these codes need to be coded by themselves or allowed with E/M 99202-99215?

Appreciate any feedback, thank you

I got the impression that you could bill during an AWV or a new patient appointment. I'm also looking for documentation guidelines or Medicare LCD, NCD, Article so that I get off on the right foot with documentation and billing. Thanks Yvette

Hi there, those are standalone care management codes. As such, any E/M work that is part of the service should not be counted separately, but unrelated E/M visits during the calendar month could be reported.

I highly recommend practices that want to report these codes carefully review the full descriptor for each code because they contain a great deal of information about patient eligibility, what is required and bundled services.
