I have a primary care background and am now working for a Neurology practice. We always billed 99050, 99051 and 99058 primarily with an E/M. Our practice now does MRI's on the weekend. I cannot find any information that states these codes are limited to only E/M codes. The CPT description is, "in addition to basic service". So my question is -Are we allowed to use these codes in conjunction with Radiology codes? Example: Patient is scheduled for a MRI of the Brain with and without contrast on a Saturday and since weekend hours were established as "regular weekend hours" we could bill 70553 and 90551. I believe it is correct coding, I just cant establish if the after hour codes are limited to E/M's or if the can be billed with procedures. Thanks to all that can help!!
