I've been coding Nephrology IP for a few years now and have been using Z992 for patients diagnosed with AKI and on dialysis for a day or two, is this correct? i was notified earlier today
that this isn't supposed to be coded with it because it is temporary. the way i look at it is they are dependent on it even for a day or two. does anyone know for sure
or where i can find this out? i tried google and searched different sites and cannot find an answer. appreciate any input on this.
