i am currently prepping for the national CPC exam. could someone explain the differences between codes 95115, 95120, 95144, 95154, 95162? thank you

Cpc, cemc, chonc

95115 is used for admin of allergy serum that the patient has brought into the clinic or had shipped to the clinic....it was prescribed by a provider outside of our clinic. Clinic is NOT charging for the "drug"

95120 is for the admin of allergy serum where the prescribing provider (clinc) is also administrering the serum. It also includes the charge for the "drug".

95144 Is preparing of vials of serum to be shipped/taken to another clinic for adminstration

95144 and 95162 are deleted codes..... (?)

Think of a rural setting where provider (A) is 100 miles away may want the patient to have the allergy injections weekly. It is (inconvenient) for the patient to drive 100 miles weekly for an allergy shot. So by agreement with another clinic (B).... she receives the shots closer to home (95115).... The serum is packed and sent by provider (A) so he charges (95144) for sending the serum to provider (B).. If provider (A) gives the "first does" in his clinic that is (95120) .....Hope this makes sense..... (???)
