Can anyone tell me where I can find documentation on whether I can bill for a patient that leaves AMA (Against Medical Advice) if there is extensive documentation that shows the Physician spent time counseling the patient of the importance of receiving the care they are in need of and what the outcome can be in there medical state at the time of leaving AMA? Can it be billed as a Discharge or Subsequent care? Please help.
