Please some one share the information for the sample documenation for 281.9 (Unspecified deficiency anemia). My physicians document "anemia" and code 281.9 which I do not agree. I feel it should be 285.9. But I do not know how to explain when to code 281.9.

I would show the difference in your code book.
I would verify Anemia "deficiency" to use 281.9, if no other indication yes 285.9 (ANEMIA NOS)
