Wiki Anesthesiologist present without anesthesia?

Our anesthesiologist was present in the OR with a patient in case anesthesia needed to be given. He did not administer anesthesia however, he was in attendance during the entire procedure. Is it acceptable to bill for the anesthesia time and can you please direct me to the required documentation needed in order to bill this?

Hi there,

That sounds like he was on standby and I don't know of any payer that covers it.
