I am not sure if I can code and bill for this so I need help. The thoracic surgeon was preparing to perform a CABG on a patient when the Anesthesiologist inserted the sheath into the carotid instead of the vein. The thoracic surgeon had to do a surgical repair of the vessel before he could perform the CABG. Can I charge?
