Hello,

The Doctor performed 93459 and decided to do an angioplasty and stent in the coronary artery bypass graft. He did a angioplasty of coronary artery bypass graft and tried to do a stent but he was unable to place the stent. I am thinking I can code it 92937 53. Any suggestions on how to code this ?

CPT code 92937 (92938 each additional branch) is used for percutaneous transluminal revascularization OF or THROUGH a coronary artery bypass graft (any type) and includes any combination or any one of the following: stent, atherectomy, angioplasty and includes distal protection when used. So the answer to your question is use only the code 92937 for the intervention (no modifier 53) because he did complete the angioplasty.
