Wiki Annual screening tests

Our patients have been complaining because they come in for their annual and everything should be covered as a preventive visit. However if we do a blood draw to screen for cholesterol or anything else, they get a seperate bill from the lab and their insurance says the blood work is not considered preventive. We code the blood work with screening codes. Is this correct or could we just put everything under the physical code ex. v72.31?
