A patient comes into ED after MVA, multiple traumas. The patient is going to be admitted for surgery and receives antibiotic infusion in the ED. Is the antibiotic infusion included in the surgery regardless of when the patient received them? One hour before admit VS still infusing on admit?
 
yes you can code this however an infusion has to be documented at least 16 min up to one hour to code 96365, each additional hour 96366 (min 31 min to use this one) the stop time for the infusion is when pt left the ED
