Wiki Anyone bill for hospitalists?

One of our new hospitalists just asked us the following:

I've been caring for several patients who are on the resident teams. Am I allowed to bill off of their notes? I meet with them and supervise the plan everyday. At my previous job we could cosign resident notes - just wanted to clarify our policy. I wasn't sure so I've been writing my own separate notes.

What do you all think?
