Our Plastic surgeon is using this code when excess tissue is removed during a repair following Mohs surgery. The purpose is to prepare the defect before beginning a repair and insurance considers this not medically necessary. However, the gained symmetry reduces complications to healing. We have also billed proc 15004 with delayed reimbursement due to multiple reviews of the claims. These codes are also billed with proc 30465 and 15732. Any information would be appreciated.
