Hello,

I have a case where the patient comes to ED for medical clearance. This is a 14 yr old boy who is on probation for drug offense and he is brought in by the police on shackles to ED when the court has asked for evaluation to know whether the patient requires a psychiatric admission or not. What diagnosis would be appropriate in this scenario. Please help!

Sounds like V70.1 if the psych eval was done - General medical examination, general psychiatric examination, requested by the authority

or possibly V70.4 - General medical examination, examination for medicolegal reasons
