New to podiatry coding (25 year+ Ortho background) struggling with (among other things!):
Medial displacement osteotomy os calcis - (confident) 28300
Debridement posterior tibial tendon tear
Tranfer flexor digitorum longus to navicular (confident) 27691
Reconstruction spring ligament using Arthrex Interna Brace
I have the spring ligament listed as a collateral ligament - which primary repair would be 27695,
however since this is a reconstruction - I have 27698(?) The debridement of the posterior tibial
tendon seems to me to be part of the reconstruction. (Same incision- and retracted to access
the spring ligament). My concern re: the reconstruction is that the Arthrex Interna Brace is
clearly placed in bone. I want to be sure that there is not a bony pes planus reconstruction
code that I should be using instead of the ligament reconstruction code. Any input appreciated.
