Hello,

I have a couple questions for billing ASC claims.

When billing as in an ASC how do you know when to include an implant code on a claim? Do you add all implants, such as screws and plates or only bill implants when the surgery code is a device dependent code?

Hi,

If implants were used in a procedure then you would bill the implants, however there are some procedure where the implant is included and you cannot bill separately for it, like basic IOL's in cataract surgery.

For example an ACL repair where plates and screws were used, you would bill the procedure and the appropriate implant codes.
