Good Afternoon,

In an ASC setting, is the actual implant invoice required before billing the insurance for the items used? Sometimes, we have purchase orders that list our cost, and I am wondering if this is sufficient to release the claim.

This all depends on your individual insurance contracts. (It would state if they require an invoice during billing, what the percentage increase is for the implant(s) used, as well as if they reimburse for the type of implant used). Just FYI-*all Medicare plans include implant cost in reimbursements*
