Hi, Has anyone coded this procedure yet? I'm finding mixed info about it and apparently some of the Blues plans in CA are covering this.
It's for the endoscopic assisted percutaneous placement of the AspireAssist device for Bariatric weight loss. The pumping tube is placed into the stomach via abdominal wall so that the patient can pump food out after they eat. The endoscope is used to help locate where the incision will be made to insert the A-tube.
Aspire is choosing code 43246 for the placement and I was wondering what the AAPC community thoughts are...
