Can the following two codes be billed with a modifier 80?

69990-80
13160-80

According to MCPFS 13160 has assistant surgeon status of 1 which means the coded doesn't allow for an assistant surgeon so you would probably have to appeal.

69990 allows for assistant surgeon, its just an add-on code so as long as both the assistant surgeon and primary used the operating microscope then you can use mod 80. Although if the main procedure doesn't allow assistant surgeon even the 69990 will be denied.
