I am currently seeking employment as a Medical Coder with an Atlanta area hospital, outpatient clinic, or physician practice. I recently received my CPCH-A certification (Aug 2013) and am scheduled to sit the CPC certification exam in mid-October. Though I am new to the medical coding field, I have completed graduate studies (MPH & MSW) and research, data collection, and administration tasks in my various prior positions. I have confidence I can hit the ground running if given a chance, but I'm finding it hard to get my foot in the door without that 1st year of experience most employers are asking for.

Willing to work the first month or two for free as an externship/no obligation trial period to demonstrate my capabilities. Please see attached resume for more specifics on my background.

I'm also open to any suggestions about how to secure a position with the "Apprentice" status on your certification in Atlanta.
