My surgeon attempted to remove a vital port in office and was unsuccessful. We scheduled them to have the remaining removed under fluoro at the hospital which again was unsuccessful. How would I could the hospital attempt? Would I use the vital port removal could with modifier 53? I want to be able to get payment on this procedure.
