Good afternoon, I'm newly coding audiology for facility (with pro fee charges on the chart). CPT 92579 visual reinforcement audiometry (2 units rev codes 920 &471) is hitting edits for inappropriate specification of bilateral procedure as well as MUE exceeding max of 1. I am primarily entering dx codes & working the edits. I thought these audiology function tests were inherently bilateral. Why would facility be entering twice under different rev codes? Possibly one of the rev codes should be for the pro fee side & I would attach modifier 26? I am seeing a few charts with this scenario. Your help is appreciated.
