I am taking the CPMA exam in two days hence, and doing the practice exams. I have always (ALWAYS) struggled with the physical exam leveling, simply because I never agree with the count. Does a full BP/pulse/resp/temp/spo2/etc qualify, with general appearance qualify as a 6 in the 2x6? I don't want to copy and paste parts of the practice exam. I have always counted it as two points--maybe I need to go back to the written guidelines to see what's up. ::frustrated:: Any help would be appreciated. The only other 6 is the rectal, as far as I can tell. Even that is dicey, as it extends into abdominal.

I'm not sure if this is what you were asking, but let me give it a try . In the 1997 Guidelines, under Constitutional is 3 of 7 BP/P/RES/TEMP etc. is counted as one
and the General appearance is another one count = 2 bullets under Constitutional . Now, if you meet 2 bullets from 6 organ systems or 12 bullets , you can meet your Detailed Exam. I hope this helps.
