Hello- Can someone please tell me if 11730 (avulsion of nail plate) or 11765 (wedge excision of skin of nail fold) is the correct code for this procedure?
A nail elevator was slid under the left great toe cuticle to separate the nail plate from the overlying proximal nail fold.
The lateral 20% of the nail plate was cut free using a nail splitter and pulled free with a hemostat.
The entire piece was confirmed to be fully removed.
Phenol was applied to ensure no further growth.
