I do OP coding for a hospital. Pt comes in for OP labs only dx on physician order is ckd 3 or 4 most of time. I now have corporate asking me to apply AY modifier if appropiate. Is it ok to apply AY modifier to pt's with ckd? I'm not sure and I'm getting conflicting answers from different resources. Please help!!
