I am in SC under Jurisdiction 11 part B. Can anyone explain why NCD 100.1 Bariatric Surgery for Treatment of Co Morbid Conditions Related to Morbid Obesity does not contain a list of the Co morbid dx codes? It ony lists Obesity dx, BMI dx, and Type II Diabetes dx. We have recieved denials on these beginning July 2014. We are using dx 278.01, v85.43, 401.9, 327.23. In the past these have been covered codes. THe way the NCD now reads the comorbities are not covered only diabetes? I think this is an error? Is anyone else seeing these?
