I have started working at a pediatric OT/ST facility and the All Kids program through BC/BS of Alabama is denying additional speech therapy visits for a patient that is virtually non verbal due to his Downs. He is getting better. He is having OT, too, but they are authorizing additional visits for that. I have been told that this payer is hard to appeal for additional visits and they/we have the parents appeal because they have better luck coming from the parent. I moved here from California where I never had a problem like this. Can anyone tell me of any success you have had appealing a denial for additional, much needed, visits for Speech therapy? Thanks!!
