I work for a Behavioral Health practice in NJ. I am getting denials for CPT codes 90791, 90834 90837, 96130 and 96136. Denials are specifically for BCBSNJ, Braven Health and now Medicare. These codes are being billed as consultations in a hospital setting. POS is being documented as 21. I have been advised that these codes are only for outpatient setting. Would anyone have any advise as to how to bill correctly. And if so, what CPT codes to use. I appreciate any help you may offer.
 
I don't have an answer for you but I would like to ask if you know anything about CPT code 90875 and in what instance would you bill for this code?
