I am considering working from home and I'm doing some legwork and research. Does anybody have suggestions for a good encoder for a remote coding from home?

Dawn, a good portion of vendors allow you to try their products for two weeks up to a month to determine what may best serve your needs. Try Encoder Pro, SpeedECoder, Supercoder, and there is another one from the donself.com website you can try out for a month. There are a lot of there and these four will at least get you started. It will take some time to try out the product, but after all, it will give you an idea of what you need and you'll best be served. Again, all these have free tial periods.
