hello:

I need some help. I have a scenario in which an internal medicine doctor saw her patient in a hospitals emergency room. the physician was the attending physician and she sent the pt to hospice with a note.

can i use the 99281- 99285 codes and use the pos 23 and facilit hospital or should i use the office vsit codes i am confused.

Oh physician is the pts PCP. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

No other ER doctor

If there was no ER specialist who is using the 9928x codes, then Yes, your physician may use those codes for this encounter.
