This situation has presented itself only a handful of times but just wondering what other coders do in this case. Patient in labor comes in for delivery of baby. CRNA starts epidural and moniters for required length of time. Patient ends up needing an emergency c-section. A different CRNA administers that. Since 01967 and 01968 must be billed together how do you bill correctly? I queried one of our anestesiologists and he said each case is seperate and must be billed seperate. We can't seperate the two codes though. Any thoughts? Thank you!
