Wiki Billing Allergy Injections - I am confused

When billing for allergy injections does the provider have to be in the office? If there is another doctor in the office do you bill under that provider? If a provider is on vacation who bills for the injections for their patients? How about mixing of the allergy medicine in the office, who has to be present in order to bill.

Yes a provider must be present. You are using an NPI number in field 24j which U.S. the rendering or supervising provider. If the provider is not present, then ihe cannot be rendering or supervising. You us the NPI of the provider that is in the office at the time of the encounter.
