I work for a primary practice and we were told it is ok to bill the AWV codes with primary insurance being commercial and Medicare being secondary in order to report to Medicare that an AWV was done. Is this correct? To my understanding commercial insurance will not pay on that code due to those codes bring Medicare codes. Will Medicare process and pay if they are the secondary payors on the claim?
