THERE IS A MIDWIFE WHO IS NOT PART OF OUR PRACTICE WHO DELIVERS THE BABY, BUT OUR DOCTOR IS IN THE ROOM. THE MIDWIFE SIGNS THE NOTE. THE DOCTOR CANNOT BILL FOR THAT CORRECT? THE DOCTOR PHYSICALLY HAS TO DELIVERY THE BABY? I KNOW FACILITIES DO NOT DO INCIDENT TO BILLING. I WAS TOLD- THE DOCTOR WOULD HAVE TO DELIVER THE BABY, WRITE THE NOTE AND SIGN THE NOTE.

ANY THOUGHTS?

Why was your provider there? If the MD was on standby for at least 30 min at the CNM's request in case of a situation she couldn't handle, they can bill for that with documentation of time spent on standby using cpt 99360.
