I am new to OBGYN billing and have a question that I need help with. When I receive the hospital sheet with the doctors delivery on a patient the we saw for antepartum, I assume I need to wait until we have seen the patient for her post partum visits to bill the delivery out to the insurance. Would this be correct. Seeing as how a CPT code of 59400 states antepartum, delivery, and post partum care. My problem is am I not running into an issue of timely flile with some insurances? Any help any of you could give me would be very much appreciated. If any of you specialize in this and could tell me how you go about billing for these services that would be great.:o
Thank you in advance.

A good resource to research your question would be to read the Cutting Edge article from August 2013 ~ From Antepartum to Postpartum, Code It. Good luck!
