Is it possible to bill for a physican who is standing by, while a Midwife from the same practice is laboring, and delivers a VBAC pt.

And if it is, How???
 
Make sue that your provider was doing nothing else while on stand-by. This code specificaly states that the provider cannot be providing care or services to other patients during this time If I'm not mistaken this is an when trying to bill. It's a time code as well. Starts after the 1st 30 minutes. Time on statnd-by must be documented in the patient medical record (begining and ending). In my experience. They don't wait that long on making a decision for VBAC vs C/S. If not progressing they cut.
