Hi everyone! We just recently implemented a new device that performs the annual self assessment exam to include the phq-9 that all insurances are asking be done on a pt annually. The code is 96103. The asa exam is actually 3 individual self assessment tests, an alchohol, opiod and depression screen. My question is this, how would you all bill to capture the 3 tests with the one code. Would you bill like this: 96103, a second 96103-59 and a third 96103-50 or would you bill like this: 96103x3 for 3 units. Also, as we are billing with an office visit, if we are just doing one test i would not put a mod 59 on the 96103 but i would put a mod 25 on the ov or would you all not put the 25 but the 59 only? Just wondering what people smarting then me out there would do! Have a wonderful day!
