Wiki Billing for Aranesp on same day as iron studies

I have a question regarding billing for Aranesp and any iron studies or B-12 injections on same day. Some in our office think it would be ok to bill for the B-12 injections, iron treatment, labs realted to iron or B-12 if we split the claim up and bill for the Aranesp on a seperate claim. Since MCR plainly states the DX 280.9 ect... is not covered, I do not feel like this is the correct way. Just wondering if anyone else does this or if I am correct and it should not be done.

Can you get a more specific dx for the B 12?

If you bill it on a separate claim one will reject for a duplicate claim, at least this is what I have always observed.

I guess my main question is if we are billing a dx of 280.9 iron deff. anemia and we do labs, is it bad billing to seperate the Aranesp claim because we know MCR does not pay for Aranesp if given same day as any thing else done or given on same day with 280.9 dx.

yes it is bad billing, that is my opinion and gut reaction
