Wiki Billing for discharge

I have a question. Here is an example: Specialist admits to the hospital for surgery and discharges three or four days later. Do you bill for the discharge or is it included in the global? They dictate discharge summary notes.

Global period

The surgical global period covers all evaluation and management services related to the surgery for 10 or 90 days (depends on the procedure).

The surgeon should NOT bill out any postoperative hospital visits nor discharge day management.

Most hospitals require a discharge note. Doesn't make it billable by the surgeon.
