Hello!
I am the Office and Billing Manager of an alternative medicine clinic and have been experiencing issues billing for our dual licensed providers. They are licensed acupuncturists and naturopathic doctors. The claims are being denied or paid at a very low rate stating the taxonomy codes are being processed under the acupuncture license for all services, even the naturopathic services. I have sent claims with the specific taxonomy codes for each service, same issue. Is there something I am missing? Does anyone have advice on getting dual licensed provider claims paid correctly, or is this something I would need to discuss with the insurance claims department? Thank you so much!!
