Can someone please clarify this for me? Three passes were made by the cytotechnologist and all three were not adequate for evaluation. Specimen is documented as blood only. No lymphoid tissue or lesional tissue identified. Charges received are 88173 and 88305 (cell block). It's my understanding that the 88173 is billed per evaluation session but whats throwing me off is that NONE were adequate. Since we did not get any adequate tissue can we bill these charges? I'm leaning toward yes for the 88173 but not the 88305.
